Lwandile is a secluded and unspoilt beach and is one of the highest viewpoints in our area. The view is one of a kind and perfect for whale / dolphin watching and sundowners.

Justin and Lee-Ann are married!
We have always wanted to get married at our own lodge and finally this dream came true. Since our lodge is in the middle of the Transkei and we are an eco lodge, we stuck to an African eco friendly theme! Traditional Shwe Shwe fabric was used to add colour to all our décor as well as Shwe Shwe table cloths made by our local ladies. Keeping eco with solar fairy lights, solar lamps, up-cycling and diy! Our guests donated their blankets they used on the day too which was very generous!
With perfect weather, family, friends, seafood, cocktails and a lot of love, Justin and I had the best day of our lives!
The surf continues to cook here in the Transkei for our Swell Eco Lodge guests :). In one of these sessions Justin was the only guy out on the point and the Dolphins surrounded him the entire time – keeping him safe I think! Beautiful creatures.
Thank you to Bruno Bruniquel for some of the below photos.

A lot of you have been asking for some surfing pictures of our area in the Wild Coast as the banks have not been this good in 7 / 8 years… The surf has been epic!
So as a very inexperienced surf photographer I tried to take some pictures of the guys surfing recently but seriously, I missed the BEST days as I was busy planning our wedding at the lodge (coming up on our next blog)!
I know it is the same old story… ahhh, you missed the best waves we had barrel after barrel, this indeed is a true story and I do apologise for this guys but here are some pictures that hopefully show a little of what has been going on in the Transkei!….
I must also mention, Kai Hall who you will see in these pictures in 7 years old. He jumped off the rocks and paddled out with no help from Dad (who was shouting from the hill to wait!) My nerves! Anyway, Kai proceeded to catch wave after wave and we all agreed he must be the youngest person to ever paddle out and surf this intimidating Transkei Point… Surf spots not to be named of course!
It has been around 4 months since we have seen any decent sized fish being caught in our seas/rivers, we have heard it has been the same all over the Wild Coast. So Justin being the avid fisherman he is has been frustrated to say the least!
Until yesterday….. we had some lovely much needed rain which washed the rivers out and gave us some off coloured water and 3 Kob!!! Kob for lunch anyone??…
Welcome to Swell Eco Lodge. With spectacular sea views, jumping whales, roaming cattle and a view of rural life, this wonderful village is only a part of your holiday experience!
